Our mission is to empower women experiencing medical hair loss with beautiful, comfortable, confidence-restoring hats and optional human-hair inserts.

Every hat is thoughtfully designed to support women in treatment, survivors, and even their supporters who want to stand alongside them.

Meet Liz, Our Founder & Fighter

Liz knows the journey of fighting breast cancer, and with that fight came the heartbreak of losing her hair. In the middle of treatments, appointments, and uncertainty, she searched for something, anything, that didn’t feel like wearing a costume.

She wanted simple. She wanted comfortable. She wanted to feel like herself again. So she started creating what she couldn’t find.

And from that, LizzieLu was born, a brand built for women walking the same hard, unfair road she’s still on today. Every cap is crafted with empathy, strength, and lived experience.

Each one is a reminder that you deserve to feel seen, supported, and beautiful… even in the middle of the hardest fight of your life.

The Women Behind the Mission

Liz Childers

Founder & Inventor

Liz Childers, a two-time breast cancer survivor and founder of LizzieLu, created the brand from lived experience. After facing hair loss during treatment, she set out to design beautiful, confidence-restoring headwear that offers women dignity, comfort, and a renewed sense of identity.

Davena Day

Chief Operating Officer

Davena brings over 24 years of project management expertise across manufacturing, IT, and pharmaceutical capital projects. With a Master’s in Project Management from Villanova and a career built on precision and integrity, she keeps Lizzie Lu running seamlessly behind the scenes. A 19-year breast cancer survivor herself, Davena’s strength and heart shape everything we do. She’s married to her college sweetheart and has two kids who make her world complete.

Amy Gordon

Art Director

Amy is a soulful painter and designer whose work blends rural North Carolina roots with a high-fashion career across NYC, London, and San Francisco. Her abstract creations — a mix of acrylics, oils, metals, and tactile textures- bring depth and meaning to every LizzieLu design. Each patch she creates symbolizes resilience, identity, and the ebb and flow of life.
